OUR MISSION: To offer unique activities for Special Needs children and young adults, while providing a valued time of therapeutic teaching in a safe, loving and accepting environment.
It all started with witnessing the miracles of a daily therapeutic summer camp held every July...
Parents, educators, therapists & community members saw a need, developed an organization, explored a support backing & sought out financial support. The journey began in 2012, when we saw our own children grow & develop in a way that seemed to only happen during the month of July. When the current camp dissolved, the journey continued with a desire to find a way to continue their growth & to see the smiles on some very special faces. of some very special campers, despite their daily medical needs & physical challenges.
Next we wanted a special name, one that best defined the type of children & young adults we have seen and plan to serve in the future...those whose lives make them daily "miracles", specially-abled ones... Then with our 501c3 status granted in November 2016, our fundraising efforts were underway through events and community sponsorship's as we sought to offer our summer camp at no cost to the families in which it serves. Thankfully, with the support of our many sponsors, we held our first years camp in July 2017 at McLeod Fitness Center where we were until July 2019, when we changed locations & were blessed to be hosted by St. John’s Church in downtown Florence.
We can't wait to see more challenges overcome, lives enriched and hearts changed forever!
